Lorena is a Chilean artist with studies in Drama and the Visual arts, mainly painting and drawing.

“I studied painting with the artist Gabriela Cruzat and drawing with Félix Lazo, in the meantime, I was collaborating with him as an assistant in his exhibitions. I studied illustration with Francisco Olea and Alberto Montt. I was part of 2011 and 2012 class of the Huara-Huara stoneware workshop, which was the point when I began exploring sculpture. In 2018 I attended Taller Bloc tutorials program. These classes made my work turn to paper mache sculpture.

Today I am continuously working in this exploration that has shown me to have endless results. In my recent work, I try to connect paper mache with other materials, such as stone and decaying wood, giving this waste material a second opportunity of use.”
